To some it is the  utilitarian space known as the mud room. But to those with gardens or barns it is a beautiful place a guardian room protecting the cleanliness of the kitchen floor and household carpets from playing and working outdoors. Oh the joy of removing ones wet raincoat or dusty hoodie sweater to hang on a hook in your mud room the privilege of rinsing the mud from your gardening shoes or riding boots in the big basin utility sink and setting them on a cozy mat to dry if your mud room is designed to house your washer and dryer you are guaranteed to never have jeans with mud caked hems or the fine dust from fir stall shavings in your home. Mud rooms can also be designed to be a ideal area to store canned foods and dry goods you might like to keep at cooler temperatures the possibilities for conveniences are many and individually suited to ones lifestyle.
